Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. She worked later as a morning news anchor for WCBD TV and acted as the crime reporter. O'Dell's reporting on the lax responses of police officers towards DUI incidents in Charleston caused an investigation being conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which led to a change in directive from state authorities regarding DUI cases. In the year 2000, The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with its Best Report of the Years Award in all South Carolina Media. O'Dell then worked for the Miami-based NBC station WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role of weekend co-anchor. As well as her role as anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also a contributor to NBC News' Today and also for Dateline NBC. She's covered events such including The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as in addition to hosting a series of Pre-ShowArrivals shows in preparation for The Emmys and the Golden Globes.
